HYDRA CEO JIM TWEDT NAMED CHAIRMAN. JOINS ARSC BOARD

Houston, TX. (BusinessWire) October 2, 2006 – American Security Resources Corp. (OTCBB: ARSC) announced today that James Twedt, President and CEO of its Hydra Fuel Cell Corp. subsidiary, has become Chairman of Hydra and joined the Board of ARSC.

Mr. Twedt is a CPA with many years of public and private company experience. He recently succeeded Ed Davis as Chairman of Hydra to lead the development of the market opportunity for the company’s HydraStax™ hydrogen fuel cells. Mr. Davis resigned to reduce his work load for health reasons. He is the Chief Architect at Intel Corp.
